Your friend the "Look-At-Me" type of person.
We all have a friend who is the "Look-At-Me" type of person, that one who is a faker, a poser. That guy that when he's hanging with his buddies he does all kinds of nonsense things that instead of making him look badass he ends up being placed in the category of a dumb exhibitionist.
Your "Look-At-Me" friend is the one who accelerates his car at a red light to look like a daredevil, the one who makes the tires of his vehicle squeak at every opportunity, the one who challenges and/or accepts the challenge of a race but then! When he runs over someone, an innocent person, then he doesn't know what to do or where to hide (although sometimes your friend the "Look-At-Me" has a dad who takes him out of any problem).
Up to this point you probably already have "that" friend in mind, now the question is, what causes someone to become like that? Is any kind of childhood trauma related to this kind of behavior? Are self-esteem and the need for attention the guilty ones?
Your friend the "Look-At-Me" believes that breaking the rules makes him the most interesting man on the face of the earth, and he lives to do exactly the opposite of what is established by society, if he reads “No Parking” he sees it as an Invitation to show his rebellion and well... to go and show off.
Your friend the "Look-At-Me" finds it very funny to go against the rules, to hit full gas on his vehicle, to park like an idiot, to never use a turn light, to never buckle up, smoke where it is prohibited, start fights for any random insignificance, in short, to do anything to be cataloged as tough, brave, hardass.
The problem comes when your friend the "Look-At-Me" takes innocent lives as a result of his acts, or when you end up being hospitalized because you were hanging with him that night he crashed, all because he wouldn't stop constantly showing off. If you're friends with a guy like that, if there's trust between the two of you, open his eyes! For the common good make him see how stupid that lifestyle is, you're probably saving his life, yours, or someone else's.
